We are running two more art sessions for competition entries

Encouraging kids to get creative is great fun and so worthwhile. We had so much fun at the art sessions at the Kinsman Community Hubs Doing Clubs for the last two weeks that we thought we would arrange two more. The children that came along to the Doing Club did some great drawings and submitted them as entries for our Bodmin Rotary Brighter Future art competition. Full information about this fundraising art competition for Bodmin youngsters can be found at the website at www.bodminbrighterfuture.org

So, or next two art sessions will be at a different venue – 81B Fore Street (what was the old Threshers shop) almost opposite Wetherspoons. The sessions will be on Saturday the 9th and 16th October and run from 11 am to 1 pm, with a free sandwich lunch provided at the end of the session.

We will have lots of art supplies for the kids to use and we will give them full instructions about the competition. We will also have entry forms available - these will need to be signed by the parent if the child is under 16.

So, kids of any age can come along to either, or both, sessions and work on their entry to the competition. The sessions are free, but spaces are limited, and you will need to register to come along. You can register by sending an email with your name, contact number, child’s name and age and the date of the session(s) they would like to attend to info@bodminbrighterfuture.org or text to 07921 279930.

You you don’t have to come along to one of these sessions to enter the competition. All children and young people, aged 5 -24, living or studying in Bodmin and surrounding parishes can enter. There are £85 of art supply vouchers as prizes for those placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each age group with £50 voucher being the 4 top prizes.

And all this creativity won’t go to waste once the competition is over as the images will be used to make merchandise to sell to raise money for our new Brighter Future Fund which will be helping disadvantaged children and young people in Bodmin to fulfil their potential.

The competition closes on the 18th October and there are full instructions about how to enter in the Enter the Competition section of our website at www.bodminbrighterfuture.org. Please share this post and spread the word, it is shareable from the Bodmin Rotary Club Facebook page.
